3D House Animation

In this last animation project, I learned how to use SketchUp to create 3D animations.  Specifically, I created a 3D house.  First, I chose a real house model to base my animation off of.  Next, I created the still model of the house, including windows, doors, and a porch.  Finally, I made the 3D model into an animation by moving the camera around the house.  This made the still model into a video.  3D animation was a much different experience than 2D animation and I learned a lot.  I learned how to create a realistic 3D model and use various tools on SketchUp such as Push-Pull and zoom.  I overall really enjoyed this experience because it opened me up to a whole new world that I thought I would experience.  Although animation will never be my favorite hobby, I really enjoyed and learned from this experience and I am very glad that I got the chance to do it.

Videos I watched a few videos to start learning about typography. Although they weren't always the most exciting, I did learn a lot that I didn't even realize I needed to know. I learned about how critical fonts can be in getting a message across and how they are often the first impression that a consumer gets of a product. I then started to learn a lot about the technical side of typography. I learned that bracketed serifs are curved whereas unbracketed serifs are sharper. ONW Procedure Video

My first video project of my sophomore year was creating a video that showed how to go through a basic procedure at ONW. My group decided to show how to get a pass and go to the restroom. Initially, we were going to show what not to do as well as what you should do, but I decided to cut that out of my edit in order to make the video shorter. We had to start the process with coming up with a concept for the video. Luckily, we came up with the idea of getting a pass and going to the restroom fairly quickly. Once we did that, I wrote the script and the other group members created the storyboard. We were supposed to start filming the next day, but we got faulty equipment so we couldn't start until the next day. As far as our cast list, we just used the people in our group as actors in the video so that we wouldn't have to disturb any other groups or classes. My 10 Strengths Animation

Process For this project we had to come up with ten strengths that we possess. The ten that I came up with are  writing, honesty, loyalty, logical, intellectual, creative, patient, helpful, supportive, and humorous. I had to ask some friends to help me come up with some of them, which was very helpful. After we came up with these strengths, we had to find a photo to use as a background for our animation. I chose a large, old library because I love books and antiques. We then had to arrange our words on the background using different layers. In order to make them look pleasing, we had to experiment with fonts, sizes, and colors. Finally, we got to the animation part. unlike the last few times, we used the video option in photoshop to animate this particular project.
